HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!
It's the year of the snake!
Although last year, the Year of the Dragon, is a lucky one and I had
most wonderful year, this year is The Year of the Snake (to be precise the Water Snake). The 2013 horoscope predicts it will be a good year to begin important detail work. Research and investigation are supported. Chinese tradition says if your family finds a snake in your house it's a good omen and
you and your family will not starve (bonus!). This could be taken metaphorically to mean that a Snake could
never have a problem with his family starving because he is such a great
mediator, making him good at business. Or it could mean that a Snake would be
willing to sacrifice his possessions, something the Snake has a lot of, in
order to pay for his family’s food. Any way it is interpreted is representative
of the Snake’s character and is a measure of the value he puts on his material
wealth. The Snake is keen and cunning, quite intelligent and wise.
(Snake in Chinese)
Not only does the chinese zodiac tell you of your fortune and things to beware of, it tells you who you are compatible with. As a monkey, my chinese zodiac says I am compatible with Rat or a Dragon, so luckily Phil is a Dragon! However, I'm not compatible with a snake. (So maybe it will not be my best year!)
THE CHINESE ZODIACS
My Favorite Snakes
Piebald Ball Python
These snakes are my all time favorite snakes, the white is caused by a recessive mutation. I think even if you don't like snakes, you have to admit that this is a cool morph.
(Just in case, here is the link to buy one.)
West African Gaboon Viper
These snakes are so cool! For their size they are wider than most snakes. They have such a pretty/unique pattern. However if they were lying in some leaves you would never see them! Another cool thing about these snakes is that they are fast in water!
King Cobra
These are named the "King" for a reason. They can reach up to 18ft in length! The cool thing about these cobras is is that they can stand on 1/3 of their body, which could mean some of them could stand 6ft tall! They are very poisonous, 1/5 ounce of venom can kill 7 people!
Green Anaconda
Obviously, we have all seen a snake movie with an Anaconda in it which makes these snakes a fan favorite. The cool thing is that I found a place to buy anacondas. You can get green or yellow!
Enjoy these snakes, they are lucky this year!
